Mid-Atlantic women’s 45s win at the USTA National Team Intersectional Championships in Boca Raton, FL November 16-19

 In the championship final, No. 2 seed Mid-Atlantic defeated No. 4 seed Southern 4-1.  En route to the final, Mid-Atlantic defeated Pacific Northwest 4-1 in the quarterfinal and No. 3 seed Texas 3-2 in a hard-fought semi-final.  Team members: Leslie Butterworth, Kirsten Elim, captain Julie Ogborne, Andrea Rice and Alicia Rowley.  The tournament draw features teams from all USTA sections who compete in a 3 singles/2 doubles match format.  This Mid-Atlantic team has finished 2nd and 3rd on many occasions but this is their first national title!
